Limitless capabilities of human brain & natural healing

Our body is capable of limitless wonders. With only 10% brain activity we have launched satellites travelled to moon send rovers to mars. From engineering to medical divisions we have come so far that it’s still a mystery for ourselves. We have yet to experience a whole lot of advancements in coming future. But have you ever wondered that how everything is advancing so fast? The answer lies within our own brain.

The average human brain weighs about 3 pounds and comprises of 3 parts-

1. Cerebrum, which is the largest portion and performs all higher cognitive functions.

2. Cerebellum, responsible for motor functions, such as the coordination of movement and balance.

3. Brain stem, dedicated to involuntary functions like breathing.

The majority of the energy consumed by the brain powers the rapid firing of trillions of neurons communicating with each other. Such neuronal firing and connecting that gives rise to all of the brain’s higher functions. The rest of its energy is used for controlling other conscious and unconscious activities. Conscious activities like riding a bike and unconscious activities like heart rate and tissue regeneration.

But according to recent studies it is totally a misconception that we are using 10% of our brain. So far there is no evidence that there is one site for consciousness, which leads experts to believe that it is truly a collective neural effort. Another mystery hidden within our crinkled cortices is that out of all the brains cells, only 10%are neurons,

The other 90% are glial cells, which encapsulate and support neurons but whose functions remain largely unknown. So now we know the truth. Ultimately it’s not that we use 10% of our brains, merely which we only understand about 10% of how it functions.

The map towards natural healing is another mystery. Most of these functions start when we sleep. So why our doctors always say sleep better and long to let our body heal itself. That’s why athletes training individuals must get a good night sleep. Now let me tell you how this happens. When we sleep, areas of our brain such as the frontal cortex, which controls things like higher level thinking and self-awareness (like the mind muscle connection) or the somatosensory cortex which help people sense their surroundings (contains the brains pain center which interprets the pain what we feel after workout mostly the delayed onset muscle soreness caleed DOMS), stays active. During workout when we naturally deplete our glycogen store and tear down the muscle fibres brains pituitary gland signals the release of endorphins. Endorphins reduce insomnia thus proving better chances of deep sleep. During sleep time these cause feelings of euphoria and naturally gives relief to our sore muscle by reducing the overall stress. These combined actions thus provide our well-being by healing our body of the tears and damages caused by heavy lifting and intense training.

Hope this article help you to understand your own body. Until next time…..
